Roonys Pub Main Street Pittston PA

Rooney's

As a individual who has worked in the restaurant business her entire life I have become one of those customers I once dreaded. I am picky and I want what I pay for.

With out a doubt I find that at Rooney's here in Pittston.

If some of us remember the building Gene Rooney now occupies is the old Kelly's Gym. What a transformation. Rooney's Pub is immaculate, clean sunny and extremely inviting.

From the outside the building stands alone. Clean crisp, well maintained. Always well decorated for each holiday.

Enter and it is one of the most charming spots in Pittston. The bar sparkles, as well as his upper and lower dining area's.

The staff is friendly, and professional.

I highly recommend Genes Fish and Chips. I've never tasted any thing so well prepared and delicious. The Fish Fillet is golden brown, crisp and delicious on the outside, while the fillet is firm and tasty wrapped in Gene's secret batter. It is scrumptious. The Chips ( French Fries) are fried to perfection. They bask in a golden color all their own (their is nothing I dislike more than being served a white colorless soggy fry) The combination is served in a cute little basket with fresh tarter sauce. Order a Guinness from the bar, and you are set

Gene offers a variety of different foods on his menu as well as fresh daily dinner specials .
Gene also offers great business mans lunch.
All his soups are home made, served steaming hot. you can not find any where better.

Gene mixes up some lovely martini concoctions behind his bar, and his weekend entertainment has you off your seat and dancing.

With Saint Patty's Day quickly approaching, one must stop in for his fresh ham and cabbage! It is with out the place to be.

You missing out if you don't stop at least once a week for an ale, a jig and a bit of Irish fare, and if your are in luck you will hear Gene play a few drum solos and possibly tell you an Irish joke or two brogue and all.

Pittston would not be the same with out Rooney's.

Thanks Gene for your community support and your lovely establishment.
